Memory Care at Avalon
A model of care that is uniquely tailored to the special needs of individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Our Unique Memory Care Model
Avalon Memory Care has gone to great lengths to provide a model of care that is uniquely tailored to the special needs of individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s and dementia. We are concerned with every phase of the resident’s needs (physical, emotional, and social). We work to restore and support the resident’s self-esteem, dignity and the resumption of as many of the daily personal tasks of which the resident is capable. Surrounded by family treasures and memories, the community members live in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms in a spacious one-level home with built-in security features such as a secured patio and roomy backyard. They bond with and enjoy the companionship of other community members and inevitably form a “family feeling” that eliminates the loneliness or isolation often experienced in institutional settings.
Our Holistic Approach to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Expertise
Our sole focus on memory care allows us to emphasize quality of life for our community members with an individualized, flexible, and compassionate care system. Our approach supports self-esteem, dignity, and autonomy while providing daily joys and happiness.
Secure and Comfortable
We care about keeping our residents safe and secure while providing a home-like memory care setting. All of our locations are equipped with magnetic door locks and a secure patio and backyard. Residents live in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms in a spacious and familiar environment.
Family Environment
Our boutique-style homes are kept intentionally small, fostering a “family feeling” among our residents and increasing quality of care. This sense of togetherness is not only comforting but also instrumental in reducing the loneliness often experienced by those dealing with memory-related illnesses.
Care for Those with Other Specialized Needs
We specialize in care specifically for those with Alzheimer’s or related dementias, but are happy to assist in these and other extenuating circumstances:
- Dementias induced from temporary illness, surgery, or accident
- Requiring assistance with balance, mobility and using canes, walkers, or wheelchairs
- Incontinent, frail or needing assistance and supervision with activities of daily living
- Visually or hearing impaired
- Aging adults with Multiple Sclerosis, advanced Parkinson’s, Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Stroke, and other neuro-cognitive disease processes
